The story of Lieksan Laatuherkut begins in 1994, when our company was founded and started working on the premises previously occupied by Valio Ltd’s Lieksa dairy plant. We can say we are carrying on long traditions, because dairy manufacturing has been going on at this location since the early 1900s.
In 2004 our company experienced a generational transfer, when Teijo Lyytinen took up the work of his father Matti Lyytinen as the CEO of Lieksan Laatuherkut.
Although our production lines and facilities represent today’s technology, we value the fact that our products are still manufactured using traditional methods, honouring skill and experience. To us, machines exist to help and assist people, not vice versa.
Today, we employ 12 people. We are constantly developing our operations, but at the same time holding on to food traditions – to us, food is not only nutritional values and edible items but the very heart of our activity.
